A special visitor to Sifnos
In the evening of 15 August, the people in Platys Gialos viewed something spectacular. The newly built yacht Yersin of François Fiat arrived and anchored in the hospitable bay of Platys Gialos.

When August comes, we all feel a little depressed. We may still enjoy our holidays but we start dreading the fall and inevitably the winter.
Une soirée en francophonie
An evening in August, the Verina Hotels honoured their French friends. Nicolas and George Vernicos invited the French community of the island to Verina Astra for a “soirée en francophonie”.
Revisiting the past
A few days ago, we had the chance to get a taste of bygone times. Antonis Atsonios, one of the best pottery makers on Sifnos, had a brilliant idea.
Dancing on the street!
For one more year we honoured the tradition and danced until late at night at the Radio Active Street Party! The party is organised by the local radio station Radio Active and attracts everyone on the island.
A walk to Kastro
This summer we had a very distinguished guest at Verina Astra. Rachel Howard with her beautiful family visited us for a few days in order to prepare an article on food in Sifnos for Condé Nast Traveller.
