Sifnos Beaches – A dive you will never forget!

    Swimming in Sifnos is an experience you will always cherish. The island is surrounded by crystal clear waters that take all the shades of blue imaginable – from turquoise to deep blue, the fresh water is a real treat for anyone who loves to swim. The beaches with their taverns serving fresh fish and lots of local delicacies will be your home for most of the day. The tamarisk trees will offer their welcome shade when the sun is high and the breeze will lullaby you to perfect oblivion.

    There are a number of beaches you can choose from. Some are well known but some are well kept secrets…

      Kamares. This sandy beach, next to the island’s port, on the western side of the island, boasts wonderful waters. With many sun beds and umbrellas your relaxation is totally guaranteed.

      Chrisopigi. This southern beach, next to the monastery of Chrisopigi, is sandy and lined with tamarisk trees, with rich shade during the summer. The nice tavern on the beach provides a perfect excuse for a heartening meal after your last dip.

      Heronissos. On the northern tip of the island you will come across the little fishing village of Heronissos. Covered with trees, the beach is sand and not very long. The wild and different landscape here will make an impression on you.

      Platys Gialos. Located on the southern coast and one of the longest beaches in the Cyclades, it attracts a lot of people. With rather shallow, crystal blue waters, many restaurants and coffee shops, sun beds and umbrellas it can be heavens for a lazy day at the beach.

        Vathi. A natural harbour, located on the western coast, with a long, sandy beach with shallow blue waters and lots of restaurants by the sea. The little bay many a times is full of yachts and sailing boats creating a unique landscape.

        Faros-Fasolou-Glyfo. Three consecutive sandy beaches you can choose from in  this picturesque village on the southern side of the island. Little restaurants, white washed churches and an old lighthouse along the coastline create a unique setting.

        Vroulidia. After you master the rocky road leading to this quiet beach on the northwestern side, you will find yourself in a beautiful beach with sand and pebbles, crystal clear blue waters, and a beach bar. The landscape is probably a bit edgier but stunning.

        Saoures. Close to Chrisopigi, this picturesque beach with pebbles is very quiet and a bit secluded. This is the ideal beach for relaxation and a swim you will not forget.
